COCONINO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ENHANCES CRISIS RESPONSE WITH VOLUNTEER TRAINING

In the wake of a major disaster, the usual channels of first responders may be overwhelmed, leaving communities in need of urgent assistance. Factors such as the sheer number of victims, communication breakdowns, and impassable roads can hinder access to the emergency services typically available through 911.

In these critical moments, the reliance shifts to the collective strength of community members, who step up to aid one another in meeting immediate life-saving and life-sustaining needs.

Classes include:

  • Session I: Disaster Preparedness
  • Session II: Disaster Fire Suppression
  • Session III: Disaster Medical Operations Part 1
  • Session IV: Disaster Medical Operations Part II
  • Session V: Light Search & Rescue Operations
  • Session VI: Disaster Psychology & Team Organization
  • Session VII: Course Review & Disaster Simulation
